As of 14:00 CET the counter on the Telecentre-Europe site was rising at the rate of about 3,600 an hour ... that's one person every second!  The most active Telecentre networks for Get Online Day 2010 are in Romania, Lithuania and Latvia. Telecentres are community venues where people can go to get help using computers and the internet.

Telecentre-Europe’s Get Online Day in 2010 is a pan-European initiative, which aims to bring people online and targets Europeans who have never used the internet, and are consequently not aware of its benefits. Telecentres across Europe are helping people to learn about the internet, many for the first time today. This project across the whole of Europe is showing the power of a joined up network!

Updated and detailed participation statistics will be processed and circulated by 8th of March. These will include participants’ gender, age and occupation. All statistics are enabled by an online tracking system developed especially for the event.
