  • The first Microsoft Innovation Centre in Baltic countries and Northern Europe has been opened on September 13 in Riga

    ​In mid-September, attended by the President of Latvia, Raimonds Vējonis, an opening ceremony was held for the University of Latvia and Microsoft Innovation Centre – the first technological innovation platform of its kind in the region of Baltic countries and Northern Europe. Objective of this centre is to strengthen the cooperation between partners of the ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) industry, science, non-governmental organisations and public sector, development of export capable IT solutions and digital transformation within Latvia.
  • Latvian Programmers Day 2017 accents importance of ICT professions

    At February 17th, 2017 at Riga Technical University (RTU) was held Latvian programmers day conference. During the conference professionals and leading experts of information and communications technology (ICT) industry, representatives of Latvian universities and students discussed the latest technologies, innovations and challenges aiming to increase competitiveness and talent of Latvia’s ICT professionals. “Latvian Programmers Day 2017” is organized by the Latvian Information and Communication Technology Association (LIKTA) in collaboration with leading universities of Latvia and ICT industry partners.
  • Memorandum of co-operation signed to develop Latvia as a Data Driven Nation

    On December 1, 2016 a Memorandum of co-operation was signed between the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia and the Latvian Information and Communication Technology Association (LIKTA). On February 9, 2017 this Memorandum of co-operation has been supported by more than 20 Latvian ICT companies, non-governmental organizations, educational and research institutions.
