  • Export of ICT sector services has grown by 24% last year

    Export of Latvian information and communications technology (ICT) sector has shown substantial growth last year – total export of services of the sector has grown by 24% in comparison with 2014, reaching 361.32 million euro, shows the latest Bank of Latvia’s (LB) data.
  • Latvian new programmers win two bronze medals in the Baltic Olympiad in Informatics

    Two of the new Latvian programmers – Aleksandrs Zajakins (Riga Secondary School No. 89) and Ingus Jānis Pretkalniņš (Riga State Gymnasium No. 1) – won bronze medals among 54 competitors in the 22nd Baltic Olympiad in Informatics, which took place in Helsinki, the capital of Finland.
  • The success of Latvian students at World Informatics Olympics acknowledged by President of Latvia

    On Monday, October 5, 2015, 4 Latvian students and their informatics teachers were invited for a reception by Latvia State president Raimonds Vējonis. The event was organized to congratulate the successful participants of the 27th International Olympiad of Informatics (IOI) which took place in Kazakhstan from July 26th to August 2nd. Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia Marite Seile, President of Latvian Information and Communications Technology Association (LIKTA) Signe Balina and head of the National Centre for Education of Latvia Guntars Catlaks thanked the young talents together with State president RaimondsVējonis.
